This Sunday WWE will be presenting its annual Royal Rumble PPV . The feature match on the card is as usual the titular Royal Rumble Match . The prize for winning the match is an opportunity to compete in the main event of Wrestlemania for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Usually the WWE selects 30 of its strongest and most deserving superstars , However as always in a Royal Rumble match one can always expect a legend (seen in the 2008 royal rumble where Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka entered) or a diva (Chyna in 1999, Beth Phoenix in 2010 and Karma in 2012 ) or Hornswoggle and even El Torito. This year one can safely assume that no Diva will feature in this match. A Possible comic relief entrant are The Bunny who can enter and eliminate Adam Rose this sparking a feud between them . The event is being held in Philadelphia which is famous for being the home of he now defunct ECW so it would be natural for viewers to expect an appearance from an ECW original in the match (most likely names are Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, The Dudley Boys ).Like the previous 2 rumbles 1 superstar from NXT will be featured(It was Bo Dallas in 2013 and Rusev in 2014 ). Possible NXT entrants (Adrian Neville , Sami Zyan)
It is every superstars dream to win the royal rumble and main event Wrestlemania however it is hard to see guys like Jey Uso , Mizdow, Luke Harper, Adam Rose etc . win the match and compete for the title.
The five most probable winners for the match in this writers opinion are:-
1. Roman Reigns
The WWE has in the last two years given the rumble victory to the first guy who declares that he would win the Royal Rumble (Cena in 2013 and Batista in 2014) . That guy this year was Roman Reigns who declared his participation in the Rumble at the TLC PPV last December.Lat year Reigns set the recrd for most eliminations in a single match and the only way to improve on that would be to win the rumble (he could eliminate 28 men and reach 40 rumble elimiations in total , claiming the all time record of eliminations . Current record HBK 39 elimiantons). One surety of Roman Reigns is that he will eliminate The Big Show as he has thrown the Big Show over the top rope on numerous occasions since his return in a style most seen in the rumble. Reigns winning the match and facing Brock at WM31 good marketable match . facing Rollins at WM31 match has a personal feud to it and would be epic , facing Cena would be a perfect passing of the torch match.
2.Dean Ambrose
The Lunatic fringe is currently the most crazy wrestler on the roster and can go to any length the win . A win like this would be just what is needed for him after the numerous losses to Bray Wyatt over the winter. However for this to happen The Beast Brock Lesnar shouldn't be the world champion at Mania . Rollins as WWE champion would be ideal as they can re-ignite their unfinished feud from the previous year.
3.Dolph Ziggler :
The show off is undoubtedly the most hardworking superstar on the roster and just having him in the rig with anybody will work as he has the ability to carry his opponent through the match .His win in the match will be incredible as the guy didn't have a job just six days prior to the match . On Smackdown he was told that he has to start at the bottom of the pile. So a win in this match and he can stick it to the Authority with the statement that he is back to the top. Amatch featuring Ziggler who will never quit against an unbeatable beast will surely win match of the year.
4.Daniel Bryan:
Could it happen ? Well I think no as we have seen that the authority will do whatever possible to prevent a Bryan victory . They may pull of a stunt like CM Punk's last years elimination where an already eliminated Kane returned to toss Punk out .Also now they do not want Bryan to main even multiple manias like John Cena did in the first decade of the 21st century and have the fans get bored of him. A beast vs beard match is best for business as Heyman vs Bryan on the mic would make the road to Wrestlemania seem a bit more exciting.
5.The Undertaker: The man has 1 blemish on his Wrestlemania streak and the man who caued it is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion . Imagine this (The Undertaker wins the match and then main events his final WM defeats the only man who ever beat him at the event , wins the only title he never has won and then the next day on raw retires or loses on a cash in from Seth Rollins .
